What a great game to watch.  It doesn't seem long ago that watching two skilled and dynamic hoops teams match-up meant you had to stay up late to watch a west coast game.

What is very clear over the past three weeks is that Detroit is a fully mature basketball club.  Each piece of their team is skilled in their position and have a tremendous amount of experience in the game and playing with each other.  Not that this is a suprise or revelation, but they are playing terrific basketball.  So, how did the Celtics win this game? It seems to be heart and resilience.

The Celtics are not a mature ball club.  Yes, the big three are, but that does not make a team. Rondo and Perk are still evolving players trying to find their identities.  Albeit, they are coming along well.   The bench is a fun bunch to watch at times, Glen David, Posey, Pollack, House.  Despite their effectiveness ( ala Glen Davis in Detroit, Pollack against Houston), they are also still finding their appropriate place.  I would think that C's bench is starting to show what they are capable of and this is good news for the C's.  Particulary as the closer we get to playoff season, the bench will no longer be in a position of discovery, but they need to execute.

Heart: the C's have shown an incredible amount of heart.  Between Big Baby and KG, there has been plenty to go around and heart may be the difference when the playoffs come.

Either way, looking forward to the playoffs, the evolving Celtics will be clashing with the mature Pistons and it will prove to be a incredible series.
